Why are there five different types of cooling packs???
ThermApparel Cooling Packs each serve an individual purpose to make the best fit for your cooling needs. From SlimCool to Grab-n-Go, check out the descriptions, specs, and uses below.
Our Tech
Our cooling technology in the Cooling Packs is Phase Change Material (PCM). Why PCM? We chose this because it's the best. The PCM we use is non-toxic and biodegradable, not petroleum-based. Our Cooling Packs cool no matter the conditions you're in. It works through conduction (making contact with your skin) to cool your body.
Think about how fast you cool down after jumping into a cold swimming pool, that is conduction in action. Unlike cooling towels and evaporative vests, PCM doesn't need evaporation to cool you down. It works whether it's humid when there is no evaporation or in the desert, where evaporation occurs so fast that cooling doesn't happen.
Because our Cooling Packs are designed to start melting and refreezing at 70F / 21C they won't sweat making you and your clothing or costume wet.
Ice vs PCM
Our Cooling Packs are not ice packs. Putting ice directly on your skin is dangerous. Ice is too cold and will damage your skin if left on too long (think frostbite). ThermApparel Cooling Packs are not as cold as ice and are safe against the skin for long periods without batteries, pumps, wires, external coolers, and noise.
Ice and other cooling vests require a layer or two of clothing between them and your skin to help prevent frostbite. Putting freezing ice and gel (clay and water with antifreeze) packs on your skin interferes with your body's natural cooling system.
When something that cold gets introduced to your system your body automatically tries to warm it up. Now, your body is using precious energy to try to cool down some areas while other areas are being warmed.
Our Cooling Packs work with your body by cooling your blood as it passes the Cooling Pack. This cooled blood then circulates throughout your body, helping to maintain a cool core temperature.
ExtendedCool Cooling Pack
(2-3 hours of cooling)
ExtendedCool is the iceberg workhorse of all Cooling Packs because it provides the longest cooling time and comes as three connected squares that articulate and conform to your body.
ExtendedCool can also be used interchangeably in our three main products: UltraCool, RallyWrap, and UnderCool 3.
TIP: If more than 1-2 hours is needed get an extra set of Cooling Packs so you can continuously change them out. The spent Cooling Packs will refreeze before the new set melts, with ice and water in a zip-lock bag.

SlimCool Cooling Pack
(1-2 hours of cooling)
SlimCool is the cool secret agent of the packs (pun intended) because it's there, but you never see it. It's felt but not seen. It's the same size as the ExtendedCool Cooling Pack but only weighs 5.1 ounces.
Made for UnderCool 3 only it gives users of the UnderCool 3 the choice of cooling power or stealth cooling.

FlexCool Cooling Pack - Headband
(1 hour of cooling)
ThermApparel's patented tech makes FlexCool the head of the pack. It allows it to bend and curve around your head. The curve makes for more effective conduction, which equals more cooling in a smaller pack.
The Headband only fits FlexCool and requires 2 packs. It can be recharged in the refrigerator or ice water. Do not freeze below 32°, or it will not bend and form to your head.
TIP: If more than 1-2 hours is needed get an extra set of Cooling Packs so you can continuously change them out. The spent Cooling Packs will refreeze before the new set melts, with ice and water in a zip-lock bag.

CoolSleeve66 Cooling Pack
(1 hour of cooling)
You can go through a gauntlet and never find cooling that hits the spot like the CoolSleeve. The CooleSleeve66 Cooling Pack is small but mighty and sits at the right spot. Not too big or bulky but substantial enough to make a difference is where CoolSleeve66 shines.
Putting the CoolSleeve on your arms places CoolSleeve66 Cooling Pack on the inside of the forearms and gives access to the radial artery cooling your blood like a race car on the Autobon highway.
TIP: If more than 1-2 hours is needed get an extra set of Cooling Packs so you can continuously change them out. The spent Cooling Packs will refreeze before the new set melts, with ice and water in a zip-lock bag.

Grab-N-Go Cooling Pack
(30 min. of cooling)
The Grab-N-Go packs are the paramedic to the ThermApparel catalog of products. Keep these in your freezer, ready to go whenever you get overheated.
For example, when you have been cooking all day in the kitchen and realize you've overheated, the Grab-N-Go puts cooling relief anywhere on your forehead, back of the neck, wrist, armpits, and even in the bra (if applicable).
Sold in sets of 2 use them to numb insect bites and small kitchen burns.
TIP: Grab-N-Go's easily fit into your front and back pockets and sports bra for quick cooling relief. If needed quickly they will refreeze in ice water in 10 min.
