A FOTB (Father of the Bride) with Multiple Sclerosis contacted us about finding the right size for wearing under his tux. He was in between a Medium and Small size and ended up going with the Small as it fit best with his tux and was the most comfortable. After talking for a few minutes Julia was able to put him at ease She was able to put together a timeline of when to switch out the cooling packs and a cooling plan of how.

The FOTB was going to put on the vest at 5 p.m. and hope he and the cooling packs made it to 8 p.m. when he was to give his speech. This isn’t going to work. The ExtendedCool Cooling Packs are not going to make it the full three hours.

1. Assemble your team

Have your spouse or close friend be the designated person to do the Cooling Pack switch-a-roo.

Practice, practice, practice with this person a few days before the wedding. To relieve as much stress as possible don’t wait until the day of the wedding to figure out how the vest and cooling packs work.  

2. Understand how your Vest Garment and Cooling Packs work.

Depending on the venue and timeline, you might not have time to take off your shirt to get to the Cooling Packs.

Tip from the ThermApparel Team - Wear the vest inside out so the pockets for the cooling packs face away from the body. This makes it easy to switch the packs without taking your shirt off. 3. Assemble the needed items. 

• Cooling Vest Garments
• Cooling Packs
• Cooler or Large 2 gallon Zip-Lock type bag - If you are staying at a hotel, the hotel fridge is not going to be able to keep up.
• Ice and water - ThermApparel Cooling Packs will refreeze in ice water in 30 min
• Figure out if the hotel has an ice machine or if you need to get this from room service or bring with you.
• Water bottles
• Towel to wipe off Cooling Packs when they come out of the ice water. 

4. Pre Cooling.

Wear your cooling vest.
The days’ leading up to a wedding can be busy, hectic and hot. Wear your cooling vest and switch your cooling packs every 2-3 hours. 

Wear it to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. This will help keep your energy levels up, cog-fog at bay and you won't be exhausted the day of the wedding 

Hydrate with water as much as possible.
Don’t chug, instead drink small sips of cold water consistently to keep you hydrated. Keep a water bottle with you all day.

5. Event Cooling

The day of the event is going to be a whirlwind of excitement, nerves and happy tears. Knowing your timeline and limits will help you enjoy the day instead of worrying about overheating. 

Getting Dressed
The less layers the better. If you can, skip the undershirt and have a second tux shirt to change into if needed. If you choose to wear an undershirt, wear it over your Cooling Vest.

Wear your Cooling Vest inside out so the pockets open away from your body. 

6. Post-Cooling

The day after the wedding use your Cooling Vest at brunch, keep that cooling going to keep your energy up and your mind sharp.
